Who Does Tom Cook Really Serve?
The answer, look at his votes. He serves those who heavily fund his campaign and paid him $260,000 while a County Council member
2024.jpg

Join concerned citizens who have had enough of billionaires and powerful special interests pouring massive amounts of money into our elections to influence policy and legislation that serves their profits instead of the people. Tom Cook exemplifies this practice.

In his previous term he consistently went against the community to fund profitable projects for his backers against the will and good of our community.

In 2025 he voted against the 96% of the hundreds of testifiers who wanted smart development, yet he followed the will of offshore investors by removing  hundreds of affordable units  and infrastructure requirements and put the cost on our community. We are subsidizing offshore billionaires who heavily fund Tom's campaign and was paid a salary as a consultant for the construction industry while in office.

Leslie K Iczkovitz vs. Maui County Board of Ethics

Second Circuit Court Civil Filed Case ID :A239

Before Tom Cook was elected to the Maui County Council, he was collecting unemployment and was not a licensed contractor.  After the election, Cook began receiving $8,000 monthly working for LC Hauling, a construction company.  Cook is still not a licensed contractor.

Cook has voted in favor of every development project that has come before the Maui Council.   Cook’s financial interest in LC Hauling creates an overwhelming sense of impropriety and is a violation of Maui’s Code of Ethics.  A government employee is not allowed to serve two conflicting masters.

Help stop the  approval and construction of thousands of new investment properties in South Maui for billionaires, and require the building of more affordable housing as a priority.

SUMMARY OF ETHICS COMPLAINT #1 FILED AGAINST
TOM COOK WITH THE MAUI BOARD OF ETHICS BY ATTORNEY LESLIE ICZKOVITZ.
Tom Cook's impact as the swing vote on the County Council

Tom Cook’s Role as the Swing Vote in the 5–4 Honuaʻula/Wailea 670 Decision. This pushed the Wailea 670 project forward and rewarded the German Bank investors, Helaba, by reducing requirements for affordable housing from 700 units to 288. Eliminated the requirement to widen the Pialani Highway and placed the burden on our community taxes. Water and infrastructure needs are a big mystery, yet Tom got it passed. He also help push for 7,000 units in South Maui that residents can't afford. He has violated South Maui's community plan crafted by our South Maui residents
